I have a question on 1010 crawler serial numbers and year of mfg. I have a dozer serial 19024 so I am told this is a 1961 machine because it starts with a "1". Ok, I bought a 1010 bucker loader today but its only a 4 digit serial (25xx I think). Since its only 4 digit, does this mean its a real early machine, first year of the 1010C??? I assume this is the case. Also, what is the first year of the 1010C? 1960 or 61?? Thanks, I may have more questions later. It has the shifter on the dash (earlier machine per the parts book) Thanks, Greg

Forget the question about the year of the 1010C. Better sanding and cleaning of the serial plate revealed a 5 digit serial of 21351 which makes it a 1962. The question of one being 12v pos. ground and the other 12 v neg. ground still stands. The 61 is pos ground and the 62 is neg ground. Any ideas if the changed between 61 and 62?? Thanks. Greg

Another question I have on these same 2 machines. One is positive ground 12 volt and the other is negative ground 12 volt. Is this right? Seems like they should be the same.
