2-53 blower postion help...

I have been putting back together this 2-53 Detroit that goes in my 440icd.
I have put the blower back together with new seals and correct clearances.
I know that the vains go in 90 degrees to each other and that the gears, on the ends have a specific orientation, also 90 degrees off from one anther.

I have read all the books and can't find anywhere about what position they vains are suppose to be in compared to the valve train of the engine.
Since the fuel pump isn't timed, it is constant pressures, blower drives fuel pump. But the In ejectors are timed, but doesn't have anything to do with blower rotation.

So can I bolt the Blower on to the motor with only the vains being timed to them selves and not to anything in the motor????

No timeing needed. Just bolt it on. Ive worked on 4 6 8 and 12s. just get the gasket on right and bolt it up.

Just bolt the blower on,it is not timed to anything. The injector timing,rack,governor, and the valves are the only things you will have to set, but aren't timed to blower rotation.

Well I have 2-53 john deer 440 aplication manual.
But I still don't see any kind of clocking of the blower rotaition to the engine. The pump can only be hook up two ways because of the fingers that go into the gear on the back of the blower. So I guess you could be 180 deg off.???

my manual says step by step but it doesnt say anything on timeing it 2 and 3-53 take the same blower thats what there listed under and 4, 6v53 take the same blower... whats you email ill scan thses pages and send them too you..

The 3-53 bloweris longer than the 2-53. Lobes just have to be timed to it's mate and not to the crank. The blower turns at approx 2-1/2 times crank speed anyways. Did you just install new seals or did you get the end plates machines for the new style oil seals? I'm too leary of a run away to trust the old sealing system style especially with used componets. Which version/size did you do with for sleeves, pistons and injectors?

ive never seen a 2-53 with a Xhead type piston even the 4-53 is rare there all trunk full N 21to1 compression sleeve, or figure 8 sleeve with 25to1 compression plus if that thing did run away it would handle 3000 rpm ive seen the 3-53 run 3400 rpm all day long in a packer. all 53's will do that...iv herd stors of a 24V53 that was nic named the screaming monster because it would rev over 3000...

The trunk style 21 to 1 "N" types are ideal. The 17 to 1 "S" style only use is to make fair quality boat anchors. Some nervous types use the turbo pistons in a natural aspirated application to split the difference. Tough to find the cross head pistons and rods but worthwhile. Usually military and the bureaucrats think a national top secret has been leaked if John Q. Public gets a set? If she sucks in blower lube oil the rpms will just keep going up past 3000rpm until she blows or runs out of oil depending on the engine's load. GM recommends those new end plate seals for a reason. The Deere applications don�t have any air damper either. I left the pre-cleaner cap loose enough on mine to yank off and cover with my hand if need be. And yes I�ve tried it, don�t hurt a bit. Just makes the whole area stink of raw hot unburned diesel. A 24V53? I do know where a 8V53 is hiding.

well it says under INSTALL BLOWER ON ENGINE (TWO AND THREE CYLINDER ENIGNE)
i thougth all of them were different...
