Just a thought. How about posting some pictures of your heavy iron on this new forum?? Being partial to Ford tractors, I came across this Ford 8N crawler at the Le Sueur County, Minnesota Pioneer show last August. Wish my 8N was this sharp.

Good idea. Here's my humungous crawler. No feelings of inadequacy here, either.

Beautiful machine! Make me GREEN with envy. How about some details on it? Any other pix available?

Jerry

Thanks ! - My wife calls it my green girl friend. Have lots of pics, but that is the only posted one except for this site on "tractor shed", there's a photo from the other side. It was a marathon project, as this could easily have been a parts tractor, but I couldn't let it die, so open the wallet and lots of late nights. Can e-mail other photos of the restoration process, but didn't want to bore anyone.

Hi! I am currently in the process of drumming up a crawler and dozer photo site-- I hope to have it running within the next week or two. Go ahead and send me your pix! Especially of rarer models. Please use JPG format and keep them underr 300K. I hope to eventually have a fairly comprehensive site. Personal pictures, old pictures, and ancient advertising material are all ok to send. Please don't send anything that has been published recently, ie, the last 40 years, as it could be still copywrighted. If it works well, I may make another one for wheel tractors-- that would be quite a chore! Don't forget to go by my site at tractor town and see the old advertising picture of the 1948 D-8!

This may not be heavy iron or mine... but I thought it was an interesting tractor.

Cool picture of the Cub Crawler. Over 1300 hours of work on it. That's dedication.

That is one of the coolest little crawlers I have ever seen. I can see you have some interesting engineering background.

Brian,

It's not my tractor... I found that URL in a magazine. You are right though... the man who build that is dedicated.

That 8N crawler is neat!! I wonder if it was homebrewed or if someone sold the crawler assembly as an add-on, like the Funk six- and eight-cylinder conversions for the Ns? It looks like it came that way from the factory.
