This may be a stupid question, but what voltage does the JD 350b have? I know I could easily put a meter on it to test, but I am curious. It has 2-6volt batteries strapped together at the positive-to-negative, so does that mean they did this to give it a stronger 6 volt system or does 2 batteries with the posts strapped together make it upto 12volts with more power? Like I said, maybe a stupid question. Thanks, MrBill

I got one of those portable batter boosters at WallyWorld, the cheap 300amp one, and it cranked right up. Thanks everyone for your help. MrBill

Thanks. I just received the operators manual and it explained it all. This machine originated in Colorado so it needed 2 batteries for the added starting capacity. Thanks everyone. The manual has been educational since I have never owned a dozer before. MrBill

As stated , it has a 12 volt system...but a normal dual battery setup in those has two 12 volt batteries wired in paralell to supply more cranking power.
