I'm looking at our first tracked farm vehicle & it has come down to these two brands machines.

I'd like to park it in the barn with a concrete floor will the tracks tear up the concrete?

What should I look for generically & particularly; any test drive tests that point out hidden problems?

Thanks,
Barry

yes the tracs will tear up the floor but to take care of the floor put tires on the floor and drive on them

Barry,
I recently purchased a small crawler (10,000#) and store it on a concrete floor. To save the finish I run and park it on 1/2" thick, 16" X 48" stips of OSB board (large shavings of wood laminated together)one 4'x 8' sheet will give you six of them, allowing you to lay one throgh the door and park on 2(per side)then you can lay the one you used to get through the door up against the machine and close the door. Even forward and reverse travel will knock the glaze off of concrete.
hope this helps, Pat

If you can pull or back it straight in and out it wont hurt the floor too bad, dont try to turn on it, also make sure you have enough concrete to support the weight without cracking, make sure the Komatsu is not a grey-model ( a serial number check at a Komatsu dealer will tell) the greys were just as good a tractor as the American version but parts support is not nearly as good, run both machines until they warm up make sure they still steer properly, put the blade against an immoveable object make sure both tracks spin and undercarriage condition is very important you can fix any problem the machine has cheaper than you can replace the undercarriage.
