I was looking at a 555 jd and when you pushed the loader down it moves on the tractor about 3/4". Is this broken bolts or a worn mounting pin? any thoughs on this, and do you see this as a big problem?

Dont know about the 555, but a 148 loader on a 3020 tractor often broke off the mounting bolts, which also tie the side frame and engine together. Many farmers bored out the hole for larger bolts- you can do this once! Next step is buying a new engine block, or welding bolts into the block. I rebuilt the mounting brackets to tie them into the rear axle; JD "engineers" hung that loader on the side of the engine, and most everyone you see has welded 2x2 along the side of the engine- first sign of excess stress, next thing to go is the engine bolts. Check that 555 to see which bolts are loose or sheared- if they are close to engine mounts, I'd advise re-thinking the purchase.
