not sure if this is of any help, but i recently changed the trackgear on my oliver DDH crawler. now, the prob with olivers that i have seen is that for a short pitch track, they are quite wide wheras most newer crawlers have a thinner track width for a similar pitch. this creates the problem of the thin tracks not riding correctly on the rollers, idlers etc. so to cure my problem i sourced a set of tracks(used but in good order) from a Komatsu pc 300-3 excavator. the pitch was slightly longer than the origionals, but most importantly the width was correct for my rollers etc. the rails are also of a much heavier section than the origionals, and the tracks will easily outlast the dozer. as for the sprockets, i could not find any of the correct pitch/diameter to suit, so i fabricated 2 myself by purchasing 2 new sprocket rings and cutting all the teeth thru with a torch at the base of each tooth. i then cut the stuffed teeth off the oliver sprockets and machined the hub down to the correct diameter to accept the correct number of new teeth, and with the aid of autocad and a template welded each prepared tooth back onto the oliver hub and ground all smooth. you honestly could not pick it from a bought one, but it took many hours of mig welding and grinding, but i guess anybody rebuilding sprockets is in for lots of welding/grinding at any rate. anyhow it IS possible to re-track an oliver and if done carefully is a very worthwile job. i would send some pics but am in Antarctica at the moment and not expected home till january. ps for all you cat boys, this would be cat heaven down here ie 950,518,d5lgp,d6,ex200,d7g,d7h dozens of 3306 gen sets etc. hope this of some help.
