Looking for literature or any info. on these very first demonstrators. There is a plaque inside the cab that reads " This tractor was developed, tested and manufactured as a demonstrator for Uehling and Son." Uehling was a Case dealer in Grant Nebraska. A friend told me that Case only built one of these tractors per dealer and only if they sold enough 30 series tractors. He has the 970 Demonstrator that came out of the Kiron, Iowa dealership and our serial #'s are only 14 apart. These are not the "Black Knights", they made quite a few of them. Iam interested in collecting and restoring the whole series, 870, 1070, 1170. They will have a cast iron front nose, all others are fiberglass. Any info. would be helpful, Thanks.

That same plaque or one similar should also be attached to the side of the engine block. If not the motor has probably been changed and is not original. Many people try to duplicate the demonstrator by painting but it is almost impossible to find the decals and usually have to be custom made. They are not as rare as the black knights but are getting harder to come by.
