Hey all,
I have an older Case (who doesnt on this forum) and I am confused as to which model it is.

I pulled off the following numbers from the unit.
On decal on hood: 430

On the chassis:
right(distributor) side: G1411 and under that: 9 23 64

under the seat: G1351
Above PTO : G1054

On the console where the tach is: Model: 411
Serial: 8250096

On the block: Serial: 2075476

stamped into the block: CWC A214

Ok, after all that is said and done, I am having problems with it now that I changed the cap, rotor, plugs and plugwires. I didnt understand that the distributor had a dust cap and so I had not cchanged the points. It is backfiring and acting like its not getting a complete burn. I believe I hooked up the firing order correctly, but, I dont know.

Any help would be appreciated.

Check the firing order and make sure the wires are in the correct order. Also I would replace the points and condenser... If you have never changed points you might want to take it to someone that has, they can be kind of tricky to get adjusted correctly.

Ok, I figured out my problem. When I replaced the plug wires, I used the carbon-core wires instead of the solid core ones. I switched back to the old copper core and it seemed to get better. I will run down to Napa aand pickup some solid core stuff tonight and see if that fixes the problem

You should have a 1964 430 with your S/N. Plugs set at .025 and the points set at .020 with a firing order of 1342. It is possible to install the plug wires in the wrong direction after you took them off. That happins once in a while. You can remove the cap, then crank the engine and watch the rotor turn to make sure you have them on the right way. You can mark the location of the distributor, then loosen up the bolts and turn it with the engine running and see if it runs better. If not, then you can reset it to where it was.
