i have a case vas 1952 year. on the right side of the tractor side panels their is about a 4 in square hole that had a piece of metal that would slide up and down. what was this inspection hole for. thanks

Amo, I think what you are refering to is the door to the tool box. On 51 and up va series tractors, this door is on the right. The compartment just under the battery tray should be the tool box. The va series was prone to rust in this area. Hope this answers your question.

thanks it makes sense as their is an opening for tools, the door is missing and the parts were not in too great a shape. thanks for quick reply.
