My 310 runs great but my gear shift is very sloppy--excessive play side to side. What parts/service do I need? I am in the Sierra Foothills about an hour northeast of Stockton, California.

All of the 310 Case crawlers that I've seen have a Clark transmission with three speeds forward and one speed reverse. That doesn't mean a shuttle doesn't exist. If it's the gear shift lever that has too much slop, you'll need to remove the shifter housing from the transmission. There is a locating pin that will need to be replaced. The slot in the gear shift lever will likely need to be welded up and machined to fit the new locating pin. Good luck.

You must be up 88 near Jackson.
goto (yellowbook.com) enter case tractor and Stockton, Ca and you will find all the local dealers. Also try Sacramento, Ca
