Was disking a field border the other day, tractor suddenly overheated, (temp guage does not work), boiled coolant out the radiator cap.
Was unexpected as I was not working the tractor hard. Let it idle a few minutes then eased it on home a mile. By the time I got to the yard it was running badly and trying to boil again.
Next day I put in 1 and 1/2 gal coolant and started it up. It seems to run fine but get this.
When I turn on the LP gas valve, I can hear and smell the gas bubbling up in the oil bath air cleaner up in the nose of the tractor. What's wrong with my LP system and how do I fix it?
Also, is the problem related to the sudden overheating of the tractor in the first place, as the cooling system appears to be in order?
I should mention it has the original Ensign equipment which I was hoping to keep original.

Sounds like one of the pressure diaphragms went, since gas is coming back into the air cleaner, also the water passages are right next to the gas passages in the regulator in the low pressure side, that might cause the boil over. There is a guy in Oklahoma that makes diaphragms but I dont know who, someone else should know.
