I 've been working on 700b for about a year and with the help of some good neighbors and some of Don L's parts, its all back together. I'm not a mechanic so I don't tackle restorations that need alot of engine work. All I pretty much do is strip the tractor down, repaint it, and find replacement parts for the missing and wornout parts. After I put everything back together I hope it runs. Everything Is back in its place but it will only run with the choke pulled all the way out. I've tried to blow air into the gas line and carb. jets but that hasn't helped. What else should I be trying? Any sugestions appreciated.

First off pull the drain plug from the bottom of the carb and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas. If you don;t then check at the fuel line where it hooks to the carb. If you have a good flow of gas at the line but not the carb you have a problem in the carb and probably need to rebuild the carb. Most of the time your problem is caused by junk in the carb so the engine doesn't get enough gas to run right.

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR THE ADVICE. THE GAS IS NEW AND IT RUNS OUT THE BOTTOM OF THE CARB AT A GOOD PACE. I ORDERED A CARB. KIT AND I GUESS I"LL JUST TEAR THIS THING APART AND SEE IF I CAN FIND THE PROBLEM. IF I EVER FIGURE IT OUT I"LL POST WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS.

Carb are easy to work on but can be hard to get all the passages cleaned out well. You will need to soak it for 12-24 hours in a good carb cleaner like Beemans

I had this problem before and all it was was the rich/lean adjustment screw on the carb was set too tight. I played with that and the problem was gone.

Make sure that you are getting a good seal between the carburetor and the manifold, no leaks. In my experience with carburetors if it will only run with full choke there is an intake leak of some kind. I have had the same problem before with an over oiled air cleaner though, but that was on a dirt bike.
