Own a 211 that came from the factory with 4 speed trans and high speed road gear(H in model means high speed road gear and they ain"t lieing!) Recently found a triple range and hand clutch and have it installed. Anyone have a guess as to what top speed would be in 4th + OD if I had the nerve to go full throttle. LOL!

Thanks Joe! I figured it was up there but didn"t figure quite 45. Being an ex pilot,,skydiver and race car driver I know that sooner or later my curiousity will get the best of me and I will temp mount my laptop on the hood, hook up my GPS system and head down the road and get a true reading. Going to make sure the tie rod ends etc are good and tight first though. May not run it full throttle but if I get the speed at 1000 rpm then I can calculate top speed.

I will guess your road gear at a little over 35 mph. Based on 12-28 tires @ engine 1900 rpm the difference between the triple range direct drive and high range is 9.2 mph. Soooo lessee about 45 mph.

I have a 310 with road gear & triple range, 14.9-24 tires, never had the guts or enough spare sets of clean shorts to get it up to full speed.

Joe
