I HAVE A STATIONARY ENGINE WHICH IS BASICLY THE FRONT END OF A CASE RC TRACTOR WITH THE EXCEPTION THAT IT HAS A STANDARD STAMPED OIL PAN ON THE WAUKESHA ENGINE. THIS UNIT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT A MADE UP UNIT. IT USE TO BELONG TO THE ELSINORE WATER DISTRICT IN LAKE ELSINORE CALIF. AND WAS USED TO DRIVE A FAIRBANKS-MORSE WATER PUMP (WHICH I ALSO HAVE). I HAVE LOOKED IN MANY CASE BOOKS AND CANNOT FIND ANY REF. TO ONE OF THESE. HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN ONE BEFORE OR HAVE ANY EXPERIANCE i.e. WORDS OF WISDOM ABOUT THE UNIT.

The RE is not listed in any book because I don't think they were sold separately. I believe they were used on a C combine and on Case balers. It uses a Twin Disk dry clutch, and most of the clutch components are Case only parts. At least they all have eagles cast into them. You can see pictures of mine if you go to www.evanstoys.com/jim and click on "RE"

THANKS FOR THE INFO JIM. I CHECKED OUT YOUR WEB SITE AND YES, THE ENGINE IS EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE. IT WAS MY UNDERSTANDING WHEN I BOUGHT THE ENGINE THAT THE WATER DISTRICT HAD PURCHASED THE UNIT NEW IN "36 AND USED IT UP INTO THE "80s. THE ONLY THING I AM MISSING IS THE ORIGINAL FUEL TANK. I HAVE LITTLE HOPE OF FINDING ONE SO I WILL HAVE TO FABRICATE ONE. YOUR PICTURES WILL REALLY HELP. THANKS.

sounds like you have an RE stationary unit, they were used on combines and other stationary units, the tractor ones used a cast iron pan for strength and stationary ones used the automotive type pressed steel pan

Sheesh: forgot I'd gotten the FC parts book out this morning. All it shows are two oil pans: an "automotive type", conventional except the drain is up front on the left (drivers) side, and the "base type" with the bolt downs and the inspection plates in the sides. The FC was used in everything from soup to nuts; my repair kit catalog shows several letter variations and I think I've seen posts on some of these tractor/engine sites up to FC-257 or so. If no real info comes up you might try sites like enginads.com or the sationary engine forum. Good luck.

Not really my field, but as a guess could it be just that, the front of a tractor cut off and a stationary-engine oil pan put on the FC? I"ve got an FC parts book here somewhere that lists both mag and dist installations, and three different water pumps; I"ll dig it out and see how many oil pans it shows.
