830 Case question

A recent ongoing problem with my 830 Case (square fenders) Comfort King???? has been that the clutch pedal sticks. Mostly what it does is it doesn't return without a good solid smack with your heel. I have established that the problem is not in the actual clutch as the pedal still gives trouble with the control rod disconnected. Yesterday I removed the left brake drum cover (and brake components) which is the only way I can see to get at the clutch pivot. I got a bit of oil and grease on and helped a bit. What I need to know is what are the components that the clutch pivots on? Is it a bearing? Or brass bushing? Or pressed in rubber bushing? If I went to the effort of removing the clutch pedal entirely is it likely that I would be able to obtain the bushing/bearing in question? With the number of 30 series Cases around I don't think this is a new problem. Can someone give me the answer. Thanks and sorry for the long post.

The pedal pivot is a needle bearing, and I was still able to get the bearing and seals from the dealer (haven"t put them in yet, but I have the opposite problem from you -- TOO much slop) You could try just pulling it apart, cleaning it and regreasing it, since CASE wanted something like $40 for the bearing and seals. If it doesn"t work, you aren"t any worse off than before.

Had the same problem on a 930. Found the left bearing for the clutch cross shaft was dry. Removed the link lever from the cross shaft to get at the bearing. Was able to grease the bearing with a needle greaser.

Yes, I was thinking it may need to come off. It now has a new return spring.
