My brothers and I just bought our first Case at a local auction; a 1951 VAC. It has the Eagle Hitch and what appears to be a gas pedal to the right of the brake pedals. Can we use the Eagle hitch with 3 point tools such as a brush hog? Also it has a standard throttle by the steering wheel, so what does the pedal on the platform do? Thanks in advance for any info or tips,

Case got smart and put a gas pedal that overrides the hand throttle for operator comfort. I have 4 VAC's and when I drive one of my "red" ones I reach for the gas pedal, but forget they don't have one. I have quite a collection of VAC eagle hitch equipment, from an eagle hitch loader to disk plows and a planter. Some of my newer 3 point stuff had to be modified by turning the lifting pins around so they face inward on the frame instead of outward. One strong word of advice for you is BE CAREFUL WITH THE PTO!!!!! Case didn't quite make them indestuctable, I have blown them out in 2 of my VAC's, and being a machinist, I EDM cut some very heavy duty sets out of 1 1/2" steel plate. I made a few extra's, but with the time involved, I don't know if I'd sell any or not. Usually what will happen is you will knock one tooth off of the bottom gear and it just goes like dominos from there. Other than the PTO problem, I use mine to death on the farm, and it seems that every 35 years, they need an overhaul, with little or no problems otherwise.

hi. 3PT equipment will work if the spacing of the draft, hitch, pins on the implement are the right spacing to fit the eagle hitch,27 inches. you might be able to modify it to fit. check it out good before you buy something thinking it will fit. eagle hitch was case's answer to 3PT but it is narrower than 3PT. one nice thing about EH is you can hook up with out getting off of tractor and wresling with draft arms. the pedal on the floor is a foot throtle. set the hand throtle at idle and use the foot one. it is good for schuttle work, loader and blade work. not good to run long time at constant speed. good luck with it. charley.
