What is a case 701B diesel? Dealer has on for sale. Has a 3 point hitch too. I cant seem to find ny info but it looks like a nice tractor. What year they made? How much power do they put out and are they simple to crank the pump up on and make some smoke at the pulls then turn back down for work? Dealer is asking $3500 for it and everything looks very fair. What do you guys think, why cant i find any information?

The 701B is actually a 700 to the non Case people. They were numbered to denote row crop, gas, diesel, etc.. Can't help you with the pump as our dealer wouldn't honor warranties if you messed with the pump. Things have changed since then. About 60hp.

There are actually two of them then. The one a junk yard has(not as a junk tractor), both appear about the same condition. The one at the dealer is listed as a 701B diesel with 3 pt hitch and it is a row crop tricycle front with good rubber for $3500. The one at the junkyard appear to be in the same condition listed as a 700 and its a rowcrop wide front. No further info on that one. $3500
Are they all diesels or is it posible the one at the junk yard is a gasser? Are these good prices if the tractor is in decent shape?

Such a hard question to answer....If it is in GOOD condition, it's a fair price. It would be very easy to have that much stuck into it. I have a late model SC CASE which I have more than $3500 into and it still needs paint and rear tires. If it's mechanically sound with good tires, I'd pay that for it. Then there's the trucking issue....You can afford to pay a little more if it's in your back yard. Glenn
