Well Like I said in a previous thread, I went to an auction that had two pieces of CASE Farm equipment last week (monday).

The 1st was a 4 bottom, semi mount, hydrolic reset plow. It sold for $150. I didn bid on it cause I couldnt see the underside of the bottoms to see how much wair their was, an plull a friend of my family was bidding on it, an bought it. An I decided Ill just weight till I find a mechanicl trip plow instead.

The 2nd piece was a 19??s Case grain drill, iwth the grass seed box. I bought it for $120. It had psent most of its life inside a barn, an from what I can tell hasnt been used in over 10 years. The Fertilizer box has seen better days, an the plates in the bottom of the Fert box are all gone, but their isnt a single hole in it. It took me a week to get how cause I had to wait to get a new tire for it, the old one had rotted out. Its over all in pretty good shape, Everything is there, and I might get a chance to work it this year yet. A neighbor (A Deere an Oliver man) is thinkin of borrowing it to. Ill have to rub that in a lil.

Here are a couple pics.

Any one got a clue as to what years this model was made? I saw a VAC add here from 1949 that had one of these drills in the add, But as far as I know it could be Older.

Thanks guys. A model L. Ok then. That should help if I need to get parts for it some day.

As of now Ive cleaned it out, an all the plates for the Fert box are gone. An it would take a good bit of work to get the Fert workin once again. Good thing I never use that part of any grain drill.

Everything else is free an in almost ready to work condition. Now All I need is an excuse/cash to waste on hay seeds to test it out.

Seth,

I have the remains of two of those drills,

one we bought new in 1950 , the other I collected

when I was cleaning up another farm with the

loader . Also have a book for it . Mine was 16

disc and the other one is 13 disc.

Dad had 2 in his farm career- It is a model { L) Instruction manual i have says first edition printed in 1948 . They were made in 9 to 16 hoes. If i remember his first one was painted verses galvanized-not sure of that though even though i sewed lots of stuff behind Case sc an vac tractors.
