I have a Case 1030D with a 1080 rpm pto can the pto speed be switched to 540 by switching parts around in the pto gear case or do you have to buy different gears? Thank you, Tom

Yes, you can convert PTO to 540 by changing a couple of gears and the shaft.

Hey Tom: A 1000PTO to 540PTO Adapter might be your answer. They work fine for light duty. 60HP max. I cut hay that way. Tractor engine runs about 1,000RPM. Same with runnin an auger, or whatever.

I believe that you need different gears and shaft. 930 parts is what you need. Takes 1 to 2 hours to change. DK
