I went to use my 2394 this morning after it has been sitting for the past 3-4 months in winter storage. When I put it away, no problems of any kind.

Like usual, starts right up, but when I press the clutch in I cannot put it into gear; the gear selector just grinds. Usually, when I depress the clutch the motor kind of makes a snort as the micro-switches make contact - now I'm getting nothing so I know it's not doing what it is supposed to.

I got down and checked to make sure the inching pedal was making contact with the switches (it was) and clicked them by hand a few times - still nothing.

I'm thinking bad switch, corroded wire, bad connection, or a bad solenoid. But - I'm not really sure where to start. Any advice? What do the microswitches energize when the inching pedal is depressed?

Last year during the spring we had one time where the motor started but the dash display was not lit (like the key was off). It acted the same way, and at that time I reached under the dash and wiggled a wire harness, and the dash and clutch worked again as normal. This time however the dash display is working fine.

Thanks in advance

the "electric" powershift is a whole new ballgame. You need to get someone with the diagnostic box, which takes out all the guesswork. You could check continuity on lower micro switch. I have found a bad ground on control box at RH console also.

Well - my dad called me later in the day and said he went out and had no problem with it. Started it and the clutch worked like it was supposed to. Yes, the hyd. filter light came on when I started it (about 40 degrees F) but went out in a few minutes.

I'm thinking bad contact/bad wire. It was fine today as well when I used it.

Thanks for the help.

Shift solenoids that draw too many amps will cause control box to fail repeatedly also
