Eagle Hitch Problem

This is for a friend of mine.
Tractor is a Case VAC-14 with "Eagle Hitch + live remote".

Problem - the hitch won't go down when the tractor is running.
- hitch drifts up regardless of the lever position.
- it goes down when the tractor is shut off.
- the live remote works fine.

Owner recently rebuilt the hydraulic pump - it is driven off the timing gear.

Owner needs hose routing to confirm connections and the orginal manual. He says that the I&T manual is pretty cryptic.

Owner is a very expereinced farm machinery mechanic.

He says that this hitch & remote combo is quite rare in our area.

The manuals and any suggestions would be appreciated.

Jon

Thanks everyone.
The owner was thrilled to be able to see the manual. He will be checking into it more this weekend!

Really appreciate your help!

Jon

Click on this link for hydraulic circuit piping, click on the page to enlarge.

If the piping is correct and the Eagle hitch control lever is adjusted to neutral, the hitch can only lift if the return is restricted.

When the hitch is lifted and the control lever is in neutral, the piston is in a hydraulic lock. With the control lever in neutral, engine running or not, the lift cannot drop unless the lift check valve and/or release valve is leaking or the oil is leaking past the piston seals.
