there are 4 case # 10 mowers , pull behind , semi-mounted , rear-mounted , and side-mounted.allcould be 5,6or7 foot. you can still get some parts from case , got a new belt for mine few years back and used universal knifes.

Red: Is your 10 a trail type, or eagle hitch. I have a parts manual for the trail type not that you can get parts from case. It says the pitman is 41-1/2" long. You will have to fabricate or modify a universal one from some place like TSC. MT2266s is the underserated knife (7') Some one once mentioned (and I can't find it) that they used a knife from TSC and made it fit their TA7. I am using a EDSC7. For teh 7 series a differnet belt was used for VAs and DC/SC (PTO Height difference. I think I can still read the gates belt number on mine if that would help. Feel free to email me

Don't know much of the history. Got mine because it worked well with the eagle claw on my VAO. Have a NAPA 25-10880 belt on it and seems to work ok. Hope that helps. Have a manual kicking around here somewhere if info in it might be of help.
