We recently got a 830 Case propane. It had set for 10 years. We hooked up a small propane tank to bypass the big tank. It runs a second and then dies. We wonder if the small tank is the problem or something else. Thanks for any help.

Check and seee if you have water going through the evaporator. If not it is probibly freezing up. It will only run a couple of minutes if no water is gong through the evaporator no mater if you are running vapor or liqud through it. It should start and run on either

You may have a plugged filter. Sometimes this causes the engine to not get enough fuel.

Most LP tractors start on LP vapor and after they warm up then run on liquid LP. The small tank should work. I fill my 630 JD from a small tank and have no problems, but it runs on the big tank.
