I have a 1963 530 case. I had work done to the genorator and replaced the voltage reg but it still doesn't seem to be charging? Is it possible this should be positive ground as opposed to negative ground?

Positive ground was used on gas tractors before serial number 8233766 or sn 8232882 diesels. If yours is a 1963, then it should be positive ground.

Tom,
This is a good question that"s been asked here!
I"m courious now what way it should be also?

I have a 1966 Case 530 gas SN# 8281361. If I remember correctly it has negative Grd. This has generator setup W/Voltage regulator With idiot light instead of a gauge setup.
Was just woundering cause I have now Opperators manual to look this up with only a parts book.

If my books are correct, sometime in 1964 they changed to neg. ground. I looked at a 1964 430 about two years ago, but I did not look at the battery setup on it.
