I just replaced the left side pinion gear in the rear differential of my Case ck580. It had a missing tooth where it meshed with the big bull gear on the axle. I have it nearly all back together but now when I turn the rear wheel there seems to be too much gear noise in the spider gears. They turn but seem to not mesh smoothly. There is some resistance that seems to be in sequence to the meshing of the little spider gears with the pinion gear.

What do you all think?

You might need to check the clearance between the pinion gear and the spider gears. It is adjusted with different thickness washers on the center shaft for the differential carrier. There were also different side gears. Check to see if you have the right one.
