I'm trying to put togeather a time line of 1941 sc tractors. I would like to find out about were in the production run they switched the position of the muffler for the middle of the hood to the side of the tractor. My 1941 sc has it out the side and is serial number 4507296.
Thanks for any help you can give on this subject.

We have a Case SC (1941) with serial number 4501936. It has the exhaust on the outside and the breather up through the center of the hood. We bought it locally at a farm sale and found out that it came from dealer that way when new.

4503049 is the first one with the side exhaust, as Jeromy stated. I have 4 of these early SC tractors, heard 3 of them run, junked the smooth block of the bunch [rough]. I do have a S center exhaust also. The only S standard center exhaust I have ever seen or heard of..... Anyone else have a S center exhaust??? Somebody burst my bubble. ARRGUG

Hello,
Origanal Case parts book lists #4503029 for hood and manifold elbow change. Our Tractor #4502344 still has center exhaust. Jeremy Hoff

Glenn, please read the next sentence in the Full Steam Ahead. It will give you the correct info. Also take notice on page 230 and 231 the Nelson mufflers on them!
