My 58 611-B Is Leaking Case-O-Matic Oil Into Trans. And Rear End. I Have Read Somewhere That The Gasket Between Dual Range Gearbox And Front Of Trans. Is Bad. Has Anyone Split One To Fix This? And Will Dual Range Box Slide Out Of Back Of Torque Tube After Removing The Top? Then Remove Dual Range Box From Trans. And Replace Gasket? Or Do You Have To Remove Some Gears Or A Shaft To Do This? Thanks For Your Help

Geno, I have also read that the seal on the pto shaft to the rear of the tractor can be a source of fluid transfer (although this shaft is actually quit high in the case in my opinion). I have dissasembled my 611B, and replaced the transmission gears, pinion bearing and seal, pto shaft seal, and pto final bearing, and seal. If I were to suggest an item to look at to stop fluid transfer, it would be first check your 3 point lift. if it tends to leak down with an implement attached, the lift piston is likely to be leaking which will fill your rear end with hydraulic fluid. You can check this by removing the pressure supply line to the rock shaft housing on the right side under the seat, and fitting an air valve stem onto the pipe (pipe reducers required) then pressurizing the lift with compressor air. Watch the lift for leak down, and check pressure with a tire gauge for falling pressure. If this is the case, the lift cylinder needs to be re-built. It is not likely the gasket between the transmission and torque tube is leaking. repcacement of the pto inner seal requires splitting the torque tube, and removing the rock shaft housing, and the rear pto assembly. it is quite a job, and I believe the pto shaft seal is high enough in the housing to not allow significant oil transfer even if it was bad. Hope this puts you in the right direction, and maby saves you some work.
