Hey Guys: My Mom went to be with the Lord last nite at home. We were with her. She & Dad sold CASE Machinery from 1929 to 1964. Dad went in 1996. Mom was 99 years old. In July she would have been 100. Still had her mind & wit, but her ol'e heart gave out. I can still see her struggling behind the Parts Counter if Dad was gone. If a farmer himself came in, she'd let him go find the part. If the Mrs. came in with the old part, Mom could match it, but if the Mrs. came with just a description, poor Mom. Just thought I'd let everyone know. Thanks.

Sorry to hear that. Lost my mom to cancer Mother"s day 2002. Just before our first was born. Was hoping she could hold on long enough to see her granddaughter. Our prayers are with you. One thing I"ve learned, Don"t be upset because they were taken away, be thankful you had as much time together as you did. my 2 cents.

Hi John, sorry for your loss. The end of an era yes. Looking at all these great posts though ,adds a sense that all the good from that era is very much alive and well in this time as well. And that, we should all be thankful for.

John,My parents both passed away in '03 and '04 just a little over a year from each other and 76 years of a very good marriage. I seen this message on the board this 'morning and could hardly believe the response , took seven pages to print it out to show my miss'us.It's only been a couple of years but I still think often about things left unsaid and miss them both. Comfort in knowing they are in a very peaceful place now. Take care, Roger

Sunset and evening star, and one clear call for me! May there be no moaning of the bar when I put out to sea, But such a tide as moving seems asleep, too full for sound and foam, When that which drew from out the boundless deep turns again home.
Twilight and evening bell, and after that the dark! May there be no sadness of farewell, When I embark; For though from out our bourne of Time and Place the flood may bear me far, I hope to see my Pilot' face when I have crossed the bar. --This is a moving passage, appropriate for a moving time, I hope. You have been truly blessed by God to have had so many years together!

John,

Sorry about you mother's death. My Dad died in 94 and my mother in 2001. I still miss them. My Uncle who I farmed with died in 84 and I still miss him also. But we have lots of good memories and I'm still running the farm. Hearing about your parents Case dealership reminds me of a couple I used to work for. They had a Case dealership and quit it about the same time as yours but still had the parts store and farm construction business. She ran the parts counter and he ran the shop and construction business. I learned more from them than in 6 years of college. Walter and Edith Tellish, Walter's Farm Service, Aliquippa, PA. He could fix anything. Too bad they're gone.

Phil

John: my prayers and thoughts are with you. I had my grandparents for a long time as they were married for 72 years, but then I had to bury my Dad when I was only 30 and my Mom when I was 39. It is never easy to let them go, no matter the age. May God comfort and bless you and your family during this time.
