About a year ago I bought a tractor at a sale should have left it there. Any way it has mounted on the rear fender a metal tool box in good shape , orange color with "CASE" factory stamped in lid, good hinge , not bent up, very little rust, but has (2) 3/8" drilled in back side to mount to Fender. Told it was for a DC? Dont know? But its pretty nice. Whats it worth thinking about having a friend put it on E-Bay for me. What should I ask for it? Thanks!

Oh, they usually bring around $10000 dollars or so if they are in useable condition. That is if they have a Case Crossmotor attatched to them.

Hey Shortbolt,
What kind of tractor did you buy that should have been left there?

Lp: What I was trying to get at is" whats its worth? is it of any value? our is it just a piece of junk? is it worth putting on E-Bay? What dose it fit? Should I just throw it in the scrap pile, and walk away? Or cut the lid off and and use it for a bolt box? Was told by another that it came off a old case horse drawn mower/ Don't know? Thanks,

I thought EBAY was an auction sight. Auction is the higest bidder gets it is it not? how do you ask for a price? I doubt you will pay for your mistake with it

It sounds like the standard Case tool box. You find then on ebay all the time. They sell from $5.00 to about $30 for a really good one. You should be at the top of the range.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: 1964 JD 2010 Dsl - Part 2 - by Jim Nielsen. Despite having to disassemble the majority of my John Deere 2010's diesel engine, I was still hopeful I could leave the engine-complete with crankshaft and camshaft-in the tractor. This would make the whole engine rebuild job much easier-and much less expensive! I soon found however, that the #4 conrod bearing had disintegrated, taking with it chunks of the crankshaft journal. As a resul ... [Read Article]
