I am in the process of restoring a 1950 DC with an adjustable wide front. When it comes time for painting I want a good quality paint. What do you guys use or recommend? This tractor will be used for show.

Scott:

I like PPG acrylic enamel. I like it for durability, but nothing seems to stand up to the Florida sun I contend with, so I wet sand after the color, then clear coat. It makes for a really shiny, hard surface that resists scratches and oil and fuel, but can still be rubbed out if needed. The color I used was PPG DAR 71282.

That looks good! Do you use hardner or just clear coat?

I used the appropriate hardener (I think it was a "Wet Look" product), then wet sanded, then clear coated.

That color seemed to match any original paint I could find under grease and battery box, etc.

I have messed up just about everything I have ever done so after reading the previous post figured I should register this handle.

Thanks for the inspiration!
