I purchased a choppy running DB 990 selectamatic.I finally got time to do a compression check. Cyclinders 1,3,and 4 all had 400 lbs.Cyclinder #2 was at 100. I shot some oil into it and got it up to 200. Then I wanted to check it again and I got maybe 25 #. Then another time I got 100.I cheked the gauge to make sure it was faulty and it checked out fine. Any ideas. Thanks.

Check to make sure your that neither one of the valves on that cylinder are tight. If they are, adjust the valves. If they are not, pull the injector and put the #2 cylinder on the bottom of the intake stroke. Use the compression gauge adaptor to put air pressure into the combustion chamber. Listen through the intake, exhaust and crankcase to see where the air is bypassing. If it is coming past the intake or exhaust remove the rocker arms and tap the end of the valves with a soft hammer while you have air pressure going to the combustion chamber. If you have carbon keeping the valve from closing fully this sometimes clears it. If it is going into the crankcase you will probably have to remove the head and inspect the piston, rings and cylinder wall. Good luck
