I read a posting response of yours (archives) where you mentioned, if the serial # is known that you could tell what kind of factory hitch the tractor came out with. I have a 49 SC with hydraulic pump, That's all that was on the tractor when I got it plus the two hoses. What else should be there-- arms, springs, hydraulic cylinder? Where can these be purchased? The serial # of the tractor is: 5322652 SC. Can you supply that info?

It should have what is known as a lifting bail. It's basically two lifting arms. But they are made from one continuous piece of circular steel bar bent into a "U" shape. The middle of the "U" hinges agains the tractor body. There are two brackets that mount to the tractor that allows the arms to hinge. The hydraulic cylinder that lifted the arms was mounted on the left side. One end of the cylinder mounts to the arm and the other end mounts to the draw bar bracket under the tractor. I see the hydraulic cylinders on EBay occassionally. The lifting bail (2 arms) should be easy to find from a tractor salvage yard. Do you have the draw bar assembly? I converted my lifting bail to a 3 point hitch. I kept the lifting bail and just added to it.

Don Livingston is probably your best bet. The closest guy to you that I know of, besides Don, is in Idaho.

Would be especially interested in the type of hydraulic cylinder, I could use if I wanted to put a blade or scraper on back.
