I am looking at picking up a case 930 it has dual hyd, no 3pt. hand clutch not sure of the S/N#
but the problem i noticed is the pto is always active. The pto engage lever appears to move full travel. Does anyone know if is this common or an easy fix?

I ran a standard 930 case tractor for a few years and the pto shaft always turned. When put on the baler it would stop. But you never hooked up PTO equipment with the engine running

I have 930 made in '65 with a foot clutch, 6 forward gears. The pto turns full time as well. I have an original owners manual and it says the pto is full time live. I have assumed that is why it runs all the time. A friend told me that it shouldn't turn once hitched to an implement until the clutch is engaged. I've never used it. Is this wrong? I'm trying to find a homemade plan for a 3 pt. hitch. Any ideas?

I also same problem with a case 930 I purchased last week. I spoke with a local mechanic that is familiar with case 930 models and he informed me that brake kit needed to be installed. He would
not quote a price until being able to view problem.

I don't have the answer but I have the problem. Just bought a 930 w/ 6 speed and hand clutch. PTO does not shut off (and that's not normal). Thanks for asking the question. I hope somebody has an answer for us.

One of my 930's is a '63 6 speed hand clutch & the pto runs all of the time, there is no brake on it to keep it from running like the later tractors.
