I've got a Marvel Schebler TSX-749 on my case 600B which floods despite repeated attempts to correct problem. Float height seems to be correct and float valve seat and valve are new with no signs of damage. Any ideas on what to try next?

Shake the float to make sure fuel is not inside it. Also notice if any scratch marks on float from it rubbing on carb bowl or any burrs inside the casting for it to rub on. Another good way to check your float for leaks is warm a pan of water and then hold the float with pliers in the warm water (not boiling) and you will see air bubbles spewing from where you have a leak on the float. It can be repaired by soldering. Great float repair instructions at www.thecarburetorshop.com

Well I'm guessing you have rebuilt it right?? Is the new float needle one of those rubber tipped ones? If it is heres a little trick that may help. Open it back up and remove the float. Drop the needle in to the seat after making sure the seat is good and tight since that could also be your problem. Then with a small hammer etc. Tap on the needle a couple times. What that does is puts a set on the needle and it will seat a lot better.
