In case any one is interested I thought I would give an update on my LA project. (it won't be much of an update though). I have not had any time to work on it since early last spring. The tractor is still apart and the engine is still at the machine shop. They have been realy nice just to hold onto it until I get back to it. I got another LA for parts but I was several weeks after I made the deal for it until I was able to pick it up. In the mean time I did not want to go and buy much for my other tractor until I could see what I had on the parts tractor. It was about this time that I begain to have less time to work on it and since then harvest started and thats pretty much all there is to it. I have been in CA for a few months helping an Uncle but when I get back to WA I hope to get back to the LA.

Kid, I'm just starting to restore my 44 LA. It is in ruff shape. It has been sitting out side for 25+ years. Needs new manifold and is missing genny, gas caps governor cap, and radiator cap (just got one) along with other misc. parts. The mice have had fee run of the place. I suspect I will have to remove the head and radiator just to clean out all the mice droppings. The fenders have been cut-down and tow hitch removed to add-on a 3pt hitch (poor job I want to return to tow hitch). Front wheels are oversized old military wheels welded onto original case rims (a real mutt). I would like to restore back closer to original; however there arent any good case tractor sources here in Utah.

Any advice on how and were to start and what areas to leave alone? My goal is to get it running first and then start to restore. I will be working on a limited budget as always.
