On my 530CK the brake disk linings are shot. I've received the replacement set from Case and they mention using a riveting tool. Since I don't have one of those in my stash of tools is there any other alternative tool or method that I can use to set the rivets other than taking them to a specialty shop for rivet installation?

Thanks!

Brad

Sound like it"s too late now, but when I repaired my brakes, the dealer price for complete lined disks was less than the price for the linings.....the disks are also for sale on eBay from time to time.

I HAVE USED A RIVIT TOOL THAT SELL'S AT TRACTOR SUPPLY COMPANY FOR HAYBINE BLADE. I MADE A FITTING THAT WENT IN THE TOOL TO PRESS THE RIVET TO FIT THE SHOE TIGHT. IT WAS A GOOD WAY I DID IT. IF YOU ARE RUNNING IN TO A LOT OF WORK ON TRACTOR'S IT WOULD BE A PLUS TO BUY THE RIVET PRESS TOOL AT TSC.

Brad: To seat those hollow rivits I took a compression clamp, I think that's the word for them, i put the bolt head in the lathe and shaped it so it would roll the the rivit so it would hold good and tight. There're also punches available to do that, and by holding a punch that fits the head of the rivit in a vise, spread the rivits that way also. you may need some to help hold parts while doing this. Best of luck!!
