If you are talking strictly, Eagle Hitch, then it first came out on the VAC in about 1948, but it did not appear on the SC-DC until 1952. The clamshells first appeared on late 1949 or early 1950 SC's and DC's about the time the first hydraulic sustems were installed.

A lot of people comfuse the hydraulic lift on the 1949-1951 SC's and DC's with Eagle hitch but it was just a replacement for the mechanical lift, was not live, but did use the same pump.
