Hi Guys, I Looked at this 1030.
Ser # 8811088, model # 930 931, 1030 on the hood nose. Engine A34973
Trans A-5700
Is this a Case 930 with a Case 451 diesel in it or is it a 930 with a 401 diesel & this guy was fooled into thinking he has a 1030? Thanks Jeff Looking at Buying this non Running Case???

Does the engine tag say 401 or 451 on it? Apparently, at least the rear end is a 930 if it shows the model number on it. If the engine tag says 451, it's a 1030 engine on a 930 rear which would essentially make it the same as the 1st year 1030 since it probably doesn't have a transmission cooler on it.

Lamont,
how much difference is there between a late model 1030 rear and a late model 930 rear? Dad bought a late model 930 rear for a spare to our 67 1030, but no use keeping it if it does not fit. Is castings, axles, gears, and such the same? can you put a 540 pto from a 930 into a 1030?

sorry to hijack your thread Jeff. Look on the injection pump, is there a tag that says 451, on our 1030 there is. Can you see the casting numbers fro the heads? I know the heads are different for a 401 and a 451. nice hear from you again. Did you see the pics of our 1200 we did? they are in the photo gallery. take care

If they put a dry air cleaner on from a 1030 they had to use the 1030 nose to make it fit right hence the 1030 decals

If the serial number says its a 931 model then someone apparently swapped hoods.
