The other day I notice my tranny oil was awful white looking. Upon further inspecting I noticed there was no coolant left in the rad or block. MMMM?? It wuz all in the tranny. How'd it get in there? More important What do I use to flush all the white guck out of the tranny. Yes it was run about 15 minutes like that. Will the cluches be alright. I should be able to finish splitting it tonight to see the full extent of the damage and where the coolant got in. Maybe this has happened to someone else out there??

thanx in advance. Gene.

C Hess hit the nail on the head. We had a 1070 do the same thing, rusted a hole in the freeze plug that is in the tranny housing end of the engine. Really sucks having to split the tractor to change that plug, would be easier if one of the ones outside of the tranny went bad.

I would look for my water leak elsewhere. There is no way for it to get into the trans on a 970 unless someone has added something to the tractor where they could mix if it went bad. Such as a hyd cooler than ran thru the radiator which they never had from the factory. As far as getting the tractor trans clean without splitting it and removing the pto. I would thin the oil with some diesel and run it till it gets warm then drain it. Then you wont even get it all it will take several changes. As far as clutches it shouldnt hurt them. Hope this helps. Thad
