I noticed that Case used the 504 ci in the 1370,
& the same block is used in my 2670,but is getting way more power out of it,
I guess the 1370 didnt have Intercooling,w/ the turbo,
I know that makes a heck of a difference in the cooling charge of air coming in off the turbo,
Thats probably why this 2670 make,s 219 HP,
Instead of the 133 or so of the 1370,

The 1370's were around 160 horse and they could easily make 220 by just turning up the fuel rate. Rearend and clutches couldn't handle it for too long though. What the intercooling does is keep the exhaust temps down so you don't melt pistons or turbo's.

That may be 1 reason for the intercooling, but the main reason is for more power. A cooler charge of air is more dense & will pack more punch. An aftercooler is my preference & serves the same purpose. We eliminated the intercooler on our 4690 because it was leaking & costs $1,000. We replaced it with an aftercooler.
