Anyone know how many CC"s were built with a wide front? Would this be rare?

Are you speaking of the CC with the interchangeable fronts as this is different front the CC-4. CC-4 is actually like the C only with individual brakes and larger wheels on the rear.

According to jicaseworld.com, link found on this site, there were 28,656 CC-3 manufactured. However, there were only 1,168 CC-4 (four wheels) manufactured. I just purchased one of the CC-4 or a CH, only 7 manufactured, not sure yet which I have.

Tom, there is a 1938 CH Case ser# 4206100 listed in the photo adds in this forum. What is the difference between that and the CHC?

You are right that there were only 7 true CH's but someone, not sure if it was DCTom, said they retrofit some of the CC-4's into CH's so there are more than 7 around. If you can get one of the true 7 you have a rare unit.

Yes, I have posted massage for DCTom. I really don't think I have one of the 7 CH's. However, I'm very new to this, so I am learning as I go. Either way, I will restore the one I have and I am glad to have it no matter what it is!

Fact is a lot were sold with both. My father had a CC that he would swap back and forth. The wide was prefered for plowing and tillage work and the narrow for cultivation. So, to answer your question, a bunch. There are more narrow fronts than wide but they cannot be considerewd rare.
