This is my first time posting a picture, hope it turns out. Dad bought this 1968 960 in August of 1970. Sat in a dealers warehouse those two years. It"s had a lot of corn, beans, and wheat run through it. Now it harvests clover seed. It has the slant 6 chrysler engine that"s never been overhauled, although she does use a little oil.

Hey Jim: Nice shot. Great Combines!! Is that some Duct Tape on the bottom of the Tailings Elevator? Darn Clover seed runs out like water.

That"s a sack(the same type of material as these cheap tarps)held on with baling wire. What would farmers do without duct tape and baling wire? Dad also latched on to a 1160 that was our big combine, after he bought this one. It had a 318 V-8,if I remember correctly. Would that engine have a 100 horse rating? And what did your 1665 have for an engine and what was it"s rated horsepower?

Hey Jim: The 1665 has the 318 Industrial also. "LH-318". Rated 100HP. Steady, Smooth, Economical Power. Case ran the 318 @ 2100RPM. Plenty of economical power. White turned up the 318 in their combines to 2600 or 2800 & they sucked gas. Peak Torque on the LH318 is @ about 2100. BTW, I used Duct Tape.
