Help identify Case tractor - maybe an LA???

Hi fellas:

i'm new here living in Terrebonne Oregon. I bought an old case tractor a few weeks ago and the seller didn't know the year. He did give me a Case Model LA parts catalog on which the cover picture looks pretty much identical to mine.
Also, mine looks pretty much like the 48 LA that sold on ebay recently (1/2006). Unfortunately, either i just cant find the serial tag or it's been removed. the 48 on ebay had the serial tag on the instrument panel. mine has pretty much the same panel but no tag. it's fairly original so i am hoping some casting numbers or whatnot will help identify the exact year model. the right side lower motor does have a casting number starting with 48 i think. can anyone help? thanks so much. eric little

Eric,
Look on the left hand side of tractor at the flange were the engine mounts to the tranny. The number is stamped along there.
