I have a model 401 Case diesel serial#8103628 this tractor was used until 4 years ago. I have someone trying to buy it but neither of us know what it is worth. It has had an International spread front end put on it but other than that seems original. Has a interesting transmission with 8 speeds connected by a vertical neutral.

Case model 401 what is it worth? $1,000,000? in reply to Laren Flake, 09-09-2005 20:18:35
Prices seem to vary quite a bit from one location to another. Around here (western Colo.), 40 hp tractors seem to be more in demand than 50-60 hp. Given the modified condition of the 401, I'd figure the price at about whatever a similar good 50 hp using tractor will bring locally wherever you are.

Having said all that, I wouldn't even think about parting with my 401:

IT'S A 1957 CASE 400 DEISEL MODEL 401. WELL IF IT HAD AND ORIGAL WIDE FRONT IT WOULD BE WORTH $2400.00. BUT BEING AS IT IS. HAVING A INTERNATIONAL FRONT END I WOULD SAY CLOSE TO $1400.OO OR EVEN $1700.00 AT THE MOST.
