I have a nephew that just bought a 1936 Case tractor to restore. I do not have any other info than that...I will get some today...but, just interested in that year and colors and what they looked liked. Do you know a site I can go to look at them?

Oops, sorry, I responded back to your email contact and somehow I thought we were talking Masseys (I usually hang out over there too). My comments about the 33, 44 etc. wouldn't have made much sense, but the 444 was a Case yard tractor but it's only one cyliner. See ya, Mike.

All the VA series and most of the lower number series tractors have the engine serial nr stamped into the block above the starter.

There is no definite chronological relationship between the tractor serial nr and the engine serial nr but the engine nr can often be used to ballpark the model and build year(s).

If its a flambeau series, IE- L, D, S the serial number is one the left side of the block where it connects to the transmission housing. Maybe you should go to the tractor photos and do a search on Case and see what yours looks like and the guys can help you narrow it down. Serial number for the V series isn't on the block but I believe it is on some of the older models too. Color will start to narrow it down.

On the left side of this page, under the "Galleries" heading, click on "tractor photos".
