VAC serial # VAC5358585. Looking for pto shield, right side cover, and was there a cover that went over the spark plugs? If so I need that also. Also need a service manual. Thanks, Dave S.

Interesting thread. When the cover hit $75 it inspired a hunt in the old barn for ours. Found it ok, but fitting it on was a chore. I'm pretty sure our coil is mounted in the wrong place, but even with it removed, reinstalling the cover was a battle. Is there a trick to taking the spark plug cover off and on? Also, where does the wooden piece hook on? I know I've seen that stick around here someplace so intend to keep my eye out for it.
The cover is the prettiest orange color. Wish the rest of the old girl looked nearly as good.

I think the wood piece just sits over the top of the sparkplug wire ends to keep them from arcing. I don't think it will fit on wires that are booted as the original I think had bare ends.

OK. That seems logical. The booted wires were part of the challenge. Finally ran front three out of the big slot in the side of the cover and it looks like it will be ok. Course haven't tried to fire her up yet. Might misfire like crazy. Had to be some reason all those cover were taken off over the years and left off.
