You miss understood, I know longer will use torktube as a hyldraulic tank. So how much should I leave in there to keep seals good.

For tractors not equipped with the low pressure hydraulic system, 2 gals SAE 90 was recommended for torque tube lube of drive shaft bearings (and belt pulley gears if so equipped).

I would use the same oil as is presently in the transmission. Assume you have removed the hyd pump, it won't live long trying to pump gear oil.

Joe, I'm running an axuilty tank on upright of FEL, to keep from sucking air with higher preasure pump. Also have no belt drive.

The torque tube holds about 2 gals. You can run it at a little higher than the normal fill plug lip level. May have to plumb the breather higher to cut down on the mist mess.
