Guys:
I'm trying to remove a rusted on wheel. Have removed cap and sprayed with PB Blaster and let sit. Have jacked tractor and allowed weight to work toward the uncapped part of wheel. Have driven a log splitter wedge between axle housing and wheel and it does not budge. (Did not want to drive that too hard and dampage my castings.) I have only a small torch, so could not heat it up good. What have I not tried that might work? I haven't tried a wheel puller, i.e. jacking against the shaft. This is a keyed shaft. What's holding it on, the rust and the key? Any suggestions? Any other rust dissolvers? What about Coke?

I just left the clamp half off; and turned the wheel up top so it was hanging on the key with the weight of the tractor onnit. Was planning to leave it overnight, but ona whim, got the maul and gave it a little love tap on the axle shaft. Just leave the bottle jack down an inch or so.

Use a 10 ton bottle jack between the rear end and the clamp. It will come off then. Did this on our DC. Dave S

I thought about this. It certainly would be the most simple of the things I've tried.

Is the center rusted to the axle? If it is, put the remaining part of the clamp cast on the center on the bottomof the axle, and slowly let the presure off of the jack. They had one key in the axle and it had a pin in it that engaged into the center to keep the key from walking out. I have never had a problem getting a wheel off of a CASE, just my stupid deere. On my deere, I ran a chain through the wheel weight bolt holes and put a bottom jack on the end of the axle, put the chain on the pad and jacked the whole wheel right off the axle, works slick. If you can't get the rim clamps off, chances are either your rim is rotten enough that the clamps have dug in and if you beat on them a little, they should pop too. I change my tires on the tractor anyways, makes it easier because the tractor holds the tire from moving on you.

I'm about to put new tires on this, but the reason I'm taking the wheels off is that they have been turned with inside out for some reason by former owner. I want them back the right way when I mount the new tires. I will have no problem getting the rims off the lugs. They are not rusted like the shaft seems to be.
