When the tractor uses the pto, such as on a 2615 Bush Hog, in about 5 minutes the engine will want to die, and the noise that comes out of the exhaust stack sounds similar to the jakes brakes on a semi, and then the tractor dies. I just put a brand new turbo in it and changed the oil and fuel filters, does anybody know what is going on????? ???

I dont mean to sound badly but take it to someone to listen to it. I learned my lesson in the past i changed tons of parts trying to fix one took it to a man he listened to it and knew what it was. As far as the turbo on a 970 powershift no problem at all. Just dont turn the pump up and it will hold up fine. Dean

You put a turbo on a 970?!? I hope it ain't a power shift. Check the wastegate, intake filter, and exhaust system for blockage or adjustment.

I put a turbo on my 1070 and turned the screw in on the pump about one turn. Ran it on the dyno and she"s turning 152 h.p. Knowing that I was going to do this, when I rebuilt the powershift prior, I upgraded to 7/16 bolts in the powershift hub, and made all the possible updates. This is the third season of use with tractor set up this way, and she"s running strong as ever. Planning to put an oil cooler from a 504 on in the future.

Did it have a turbo before or did you install it since they didn't come from the factory with one.

Did you check the intake filter? Had a bird nest get sucked up intake once, when it sat in the field a few days.
